I prefer the week of the new moon when bowhunting the backcounty for elk. I'm curious if anybody prefers a different moon phase and why?
I don’t bow hunt, just handgun and rifle.
I prefer “less moon the better” for deer/hogs. With much above quarter moon the animals become more nocturnal, less chance of seeing them during legal shooting hours (at least with deer).
how does a cold front effect this?
I am more concerned about wind. Five out of six days last elk season, it blew 40 every day.
