Looks interesting.
I handled one this past week at my LGS. It was priced at $1299. For that price, it appeared to give good value for what it was. The front rail was nicely made, and as usual, the Sig lower looked very well done. My experience with Sig has been that they consistently do a nice job in the finish they put on their lowers. This one was no exception. I'm not really into the 7.62 market, but as I told my friend at the LGS, it would really all depend on how well, and how reliably, the gun would shoot. If it is accurate and reliable, then for $1299 it is a heck of a deal, imho.
Not a bad price (especially considering what I paid last month for a DD5V4) but no mention of whether the barrel is chrome lined or even nitrided, and would it kill them to add two more inches to make it 18"?
It’s nitrided.

This is showing a nitrided barrel.
I Googled it and actually went to SIG's website. Their own ad didn't mention it! https://www.sigsauer.com/store/sig716-tread.html
You're probably right, SIG's have been having nitrided barrels for a number of years now, with the exception of LE or foreign sales which apparently have the chrome lining option (I have a "contract overrun" 14.5" CL upper). Odd that they won't mention that in their own website description of it.
I looked on Sig’s site first and didn’t see it either. Maybe it’ll be a good rifle.
That damn price is intriguing. I need an AR 10 like a fish needs a bicycle but damn. Damn near that ColtCM for $1,400 I grabbed. I know most folks want a longer barrel, but then we also have guys cutting their MWS down to 13.5 so, maybe a happy medium, especially suppressed.
Throw an ACOG or LPVO on it and rock on.

No joke, I saw this and felt bad for a moment. I could have had a factory rifle for what I’ll end up with in a custom (home built) rifle, not counting tool purchase.
I hope this ends up being a hit; we would all benefit.
