PMAG Question
I thought this was a "newbie" enough of a question to post it here. I'm a bit confused by the PMAGs available; namely, Gen 2 and Gen 3 (5.56) and the "window" magazine option. Forgive therefore the newbie questions. Would it be wise to go with Gen 3 PMAGs over PMAG Gen 2. I see some sales from time to time on Gen 2 and I think, "Dang, I should get those" but then I read about the updates to the Gen 3 and think...calm down there, cowboy. And then I see the mags with windows in them and wonder if I should get those over the non-window mags. I'm thinking that in any real-world scenario, would I even bother to look at those windows? On the range, I shoot through a magazine and replace it. Thanks for any advice

As long as you're using some kind of PMAG, you're on the right track.
We use mostly gen 3, but wouldn't step over a gen 2.
The windows are cool, but certainly not required.
You can pick up a mag, see rounds in the top and feel if it is full.

You’re probably not going to go wrong with any of them, but the Gen 3 mags are worth the increased price, especially if you have a tighter magwell. The windowed MCT M3 mag is the best magazine there is IMO.
