So, one of the ways that ATF attacks shotguns that they don't like is with the "destructive device" label as the definition thereof includes anything over .50 cal.
So, what if we developed a detachable mag fed shotgun based around a new shotshel with a .50 cal bore?
Since it would be a new round we could make it high pressure, rimless, and we could assess what material to make the shells from.
Just a thought.

Does anybody really want a box-fed .410 shotgun? Because that's what it sounds like you're talking about.
On the other hand, if I wanted a box-fed .50cal, then I'd go .50Beowolf or whatever.
