I seem to recall discussion that the FAL might have first been intended to use 8x33.
I generally find it amusing of the "new wonder calibers" Then you look at the 8mm Kurtz and .280 British, and people act like something was invented. Then we have 9mm rocking it still. I'm surprised folks haven't worked 8mm subs, etc. Then the whole M1/M14, especially M14 waste of time-shortest ever issued gun? The M1 was more of a benefit to us AT THE TIME, then the so called replacement or "upgrade"
You guys remember PSA bought that steel cased ammo factory to US produce 7.62x39, maybe they could also make 8mmK, a reliable source of reasonably priced ammo would be sweet. One of these chambered in 7.62x39 just seems wrong, these guns were made to kill commies not eat their ammo.
