The MAWL and Torch Extender (MATE)

I took a couple classes with Jon Dufresne last year so I had the opportunity to check out a prototype of this unit and thought it was pretty slick. It basically replaces the jaw clamp on the MAWL and allows you to directly install a SF Scout pattern light on to it. Nice setup for space challenged handguards or ones with only a top picatinny rail like some of the older ALG and CMR handguard. I'll probably pick one up to play with and thought I'd pass it along.

The Mawl and Torch Extender (MATE) is an collaborative product between Kinetic Consulting and FerniLab. Together we have created the MATE. The MATE was created to integrate the B.E. Meyers MAWL EC1/EC2 and a scout pattern weapon light. It positions the light in the optimal place to be able to remove the head of the light to change batteries and adjust the Mawls elevation turret.
