wet wood ignition and saving lots of time , effort on warming fires.
I use just 4 logs, 10" long, 4" OD for the Swede. If the wood is wet, peel the bark and wet wood from 1/3rd of circumference of the 4 logs, and orient the peeled sides to the center of the bundle when you assemble the swede. Split a 5th dead wood log into quarters. Split off those dry center wedges, andake shavings and feathersticks from them. Light the bottom of the shavings, holding the Swede and waving it around to aerate it. when flames come out of the top of the Swede, set it on 3 small stones, so it can "draw" air under itself. Use it to ignite the protruding ends of the Siberian. The Siberian forms its own shelter from rain and snow and it will dry itself out as it burns from the ends of the log. The siberian projects its heat in one direction 6 ft or so, letting you safely keep popping embers away from the plastic of the supershelter.
