LMT 308 - Are these problems?

Just picked up my Defender H today. The bolt carrier has a line of what appears to be hefty tooling marks across each side. I’m guessing these are cosmetic and not representative of a structural issue. Thoughts?

Also, the upper-to-lower gap seems to be pretty big. Is this normal for the LMT MWS models? It feels tight - there’s no rattle or play between the two. It is wide enough that I think dirt and crap will get 8n there if I run the gun through it’s paces.

what's on my screen not working

Only the rails make contact, so the tooling marks will not hurt anything. My 5.56 LMT bolt carrier is similar but not as severe.

This. I would just shoot it

A little chatter marking on a non-critical surface. Nothing I would give a second thought about. Wait til you see how dirty the gun gets, and you'll forget all about that stuff. Not a dig on the gun, just that those big ass BCGs get toxic sludge dirty after a few hundred rounds.

Just shoot the fck out of that gun and enjoy LMT greatness.
