I'm looking to fill a specific niche for armor. I am looking for Level 3 plates (yes, I know they are not rated for M855), in either 10x12 or Medium SAPI, that are under 3 lbs each and under $250 per plate. Additionally, multi curve is highly, highly preferred. A quick googling found DFNDR plates that fit the bill, but nearly double the budget allocated. Anyone producing such a thing? Thanks!

At that price point you probably won't do better than this. I bought the L210s when they were on sale and have been happy with them.

I actually own these plates and think they are top notch gear for the price. They absolutely change how it feels to wear armor.
Here's a MrGunzNGear review of the plates. They perform how you would expect an UHMPE would. Basically they can stop everything but a steel core M855 traveling above 2300 FPS.

If you're looking at plates, I'm assuming you're looking for rifle protection.
Maybe black tip AP isn't a threat but M855 has to be a serious consideration based on how much is out there and the price prior to the ammo crunch.
