LMT Ergo grip
All,
I have an Ergo grip on one of my ARs. It came with my LMT MWS .308, but I decided to switch it out with a MIAD and the Ergo grip has now found a home on a Colt M4 Target (6400c) of mine. I like the grip, however the grip plug works itself out during shooting and therefore I am unable to store anything in the grip itself (batteries, bolt etc....)
I am looking for opinions on what I should do with it. I may just tack the grip plug with a small amount of expoxy glue or cut off the plug portion altogether. Should I just pull off the Ergo and replace it?
Thanks for your replies.

If you really need to store something inside it I would contact Ergo (or LMT) and see about them sending you a new one.
I never had any issues with my ergo grips.

I have 2 Ergos and while they don't work themselves out like yours, they don't exactly fit securely either. Grip storage is cool and convenient, but personally I think is a little over-thought except for duty use. Unless you have a need to be out-and-about with that rifle and your life depends on spares, I'd cut it off and keep batteries/bolts in your range bag. The grip is worth keeping IMO.

The plugs on mine always worked themselves out with use. It became annoying to the point that I just replaced the grips.

I like my Ergo grips and just live with the lack of storage.

The ERGO grip plug worked loose the first couple trips to the range on my LMT lowers.Shortly after that I ripped the grip plug off and tossed it.Overall I like the feel of the ERGO grip and its functional.I see no other issues with it that would cause me to change it out for something else.
Personally I do not carry/store accoutrements or spare parts on my weapons.I like to keep my weapons as light and simplified as possible. So grip storage(same opinion on storing junk in my stocks, either A2 or SOPMOD) is not high on my list of a needed feature IMHO.

I think that they're a bit overlong, even without the plug.
I'm not worried about storing anything in the grip, either, and leaving the plug out....
...well, let's just say that if something infiltrates to the interior of my carbine via the grip, I put something together incorrectly and deserve to have it happen.
However, if the thing isn't functioning as advertised/to your satisfaction, you're doing yourself something of a disservice if you don't at least attempt to have it seen to by the manufacturer.

Ergo specifically states in the grip packaging that they are not meant to be a storage area, and some legal mumbo-jumbo about not being responsible for lost items store in their grips... So don't get your hopes up on getting a replacement or refund.
But hey.. The worst they could say is no. :)

Mine comes loose on my mws also. I like the feel, but I have a MAID ready to install. I'm looking to build it up a bit and sand it down to fit my hand better.

I loved the ergo grips but had the same issues. I liked the rubber coating the most about it. I made the switch to the moe+ grip and havent looked back
