What you're doing is throwing out moronic and "what is the most expensive piece of uber awesome for this improbable situation" type questions. You don't know what you don't know and you think you are special enough of a snowflake that your silly questions are better than (gasp) actually taking the time to read and learn.

Here's a piece of advice on how to learn more about shooting: buy a .22 revolver to learn trigger control for pistol shooting and a bolt action .22 for proper fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, perhaps at an Appleseed shoot. Stop wasting ours and your time with stupid ****ing questions like which is the bestest extreme long range scope and .338 Lapua bullpup questions. I know it's harder to research things rather than just blurt out your daydream of the week but trust me, doing research will help you more than your silly questions.

For your information I do plenty of research already. I check every firearm update website and blog I know of, constantly. I look at every company page that I think has potential. When I ask questions on a forum like this, I don't intend to necessarily buy or build the weapons I talk about. More than anything I am interested in the technology behind the weapon systems. I want to know how they work and why they are successful. I don't see how that gives you the right to rage. I never said I was planning on purchasing a 50x scope, I just wanted to know what people like! Just because someone researches the Irish mafia all day doesn't mean he wants to join a gang.

I understand that you want to learn about hardware rather than software. What you don't understand is that you don't know enough to ask intelligent questions and you really can learn more by reading.

If you must continue down this silly path, I strongly recommend the precision rifle section of http://lightfighter.net

Lots of police and military snipers there to answer your questions.

+1 totally agree. Do you even currently do any long range shooting? Until then you don't know what features you want or are even looking for.

I don't mean to sound harsh but people who shoot 2000+ and extreme long range don't ask these kinds of questions.

Learn to define your questions in terms of fulfilling a capability requirements, not brand-names. In this instance, reading the long-gun subforums or the highly informative Designated Marksman thread....

Hint, you need to be able to describe intended usage (i.e., where "..."Extrrrrrrreeeeeeme Long Range" [:rolleyes:] is replaced by a number describing the outer edge of your desired performance envelope...).
