Anybody find out why the Troy is picky about what mags it gets fed? Is there a fix?
I'm amazed at the lack of buzz about this carbine. I understand that everyone seems to be making AR's these days, but I would have expected more folks to be interested and talking about a great product from a manufacturer with a great reputation at what seems to be a bargain price.
I've put another 90rds through mine in the last couple of days. I know it is no torture test, but I am still really liking it. No problems at all. I am breaking it down and cleaning it after each outing. It gives me a chance to inspect everything and gain confidence in a new weapon.
For those on the fence, Dicks put them on sale Sunday - $999.99.
I'm gonna see if they will give me a $100 credit since I bought mine Tues. Sign says all firearm purchases final though.
I ran mine through the third day of a carbine class this weekend, and it got another 300 +/- rounds through it (bringing it to about 800 total). Still no problems at all.
I also discovered that my black P-mags seat and come out much better than my FDE ones, so I may sand down the FDE mags a little bit to try and fix the issue.
I made the trip across town to Dicks yesterday just to get one in my hands.
I really like it. I can see one in my future.
Checked one of these out at the local Dick's today. Seems like a pretty squared away gun, especially for the price. Properly staked gas key and castle nut, AUTO carrier, carbine buffer plus all the Troy goodies. I was surprised to find the stock was not as bulky as I expected it to be. Overall, it's a nice piece and miles better than anything else on their rack.
