If that's a BCM... you better have a gorilla handy if you intend to knock out those FSB pins. I mushroomed a punch and am not the first to do so after reading a bit. I figure it's hidden, tight.... it no longer bothers me. You really have to really be looking for it to see it and then it's only visible from top.
It seems like the metal is just in too tight behind the FSB and can't "break" where it's squeezed together. I think that it needs to be broken free -first- otherwise it just tears instead of breaks. Like a stick in a vice. You can pull on it all you want but it's going to break at the area above the jaws.
The good news though if you haven't done it. The ring and spring is a cakewalk.
