It would be a great scope if it had some daylight visible illumination. As it is its just ok. Wish Nightforce would offer a good low power variable with solid daylight visible illumination. Everything else about their glass is top notch. I own 2 Nightforce scopes myself on precision rifles.

Ditto. If Nightforce offered daylight visible illumination, the 1-4 selection process would get very easy.

If I could have only one optic it would be the Swarovski Z6i 1-6. Expensive but worth every penny IMO. I like the illumination and it's switching better than my Aimpoints and EOTech. It has a mil dot tree for long range work and it's so clear you think your looking through an empty tube. It's also very light for scopes in its class.

If you can save up or use a tax return or whatever I am confident you will be very pleased with one.

wow 2300$ for a scope. I dont know if I could justify spending that much even if I had the coin to spare. but still I would love to use one for a day.

It is expensive but worth it if you can swing it. They have a good leo military discount.

Agreed, that is an area that could be approved upon. That said, I think NF is a good value for the quality that you are getting... I run the
1-4X24 FC-2 (5.56 Noveske everyday rig), 2.5-10X32 LV (SCAR 17/MWS) and a 3.5-15X50 MLR (18" OBR) and am happy with them all.

I'm in the market for either a 1-6 or 1-8 for the SCAR 17 so that I can move the 2.5-10 to my LMT MWS.

I am also running a 2.5-10 LV Nightforce on my Scar17 with a Aimpoint R1 in an off set mount. With 155 grain Amax the bullet drop in the Nightforce is right on with the muzzle velocity I am getting.

Haven't checked back in a couple days, thanks for the replies, glad to see others have some of the same questions, and even more glad to see them being answered.

I checked out a 1x4 at a small local shop yesterday. The millet dsm, it was the only one they had and the battery was dead so I couldnt see the lighted reticle, but one thing that concerns me is the parallax and eye relief. I'm in NY so civilians have to have a fixed stock. My current stock is a 6 position m4 stock pinned in at A2 length. This is fine with red dots with unlimited eye relief, but I'm worried might be an issue when shooting standing with the 1x4. The only option I see for myself there is gettin the stock re pinned to a shorter pull, but that's getting off topic.

It just makes it harder to make the purchase on a 500^ optic without knowing.
