Damn bro I'm pretty sure I have a ligit M4 my bad I dnt have 400 bucks to throw down for an optic after spending 1300 on a Bravo Company.
I've actually read the above post an prolly 3 outta all the other guys r actually sayn hey look at somethin else instead of bitchin an sayn I need to be on ar15.com with that said an u bashin so hard what kinda M4 do u own
Your reading comprehension sucks.
BTW, I own BCMs myself.
I posted to help you, not bash you.
You would honestly get better answers on barfcom.
This forum is wired much tighter.
Now go ahead and be all emotional and reactionary here, it usually ends with threads getting locked and/or members getting banned.
And don't call me bro.
I can't really read what you're typing, but I think I've gathered a few things:
1) the dweeb at your gun shop is either: a) lying or b) a phony (likely both). End of story. Noone in the military is issued a sight manufactured by UTG.
2) I gathered that you own a bcm. Do NOT purchase a UTG sight, they're trash.
With that said, welcome to m4c. Stick around and read a lot. You're MUCH better off with iron sight, and maybe even NO sights before that UTG. Not trying to rain on your parade, just saying.
If you can't afford a $400 sight, how are you EVER going to afford ammo?
Chill out, little feller. Learn to read. Then learn to spell. Your posts make my eyes bleed. Not to mention they're hard as crap to read.
UTG is crap. Unless you're playing airsoft. And while it's still crap it's suited to toys. I wouldn't even put one on my pellet gun.
If you had a vortex and liked it why not buy another one? They make decent stuff.
I've had good luck with BSA and Sign branded red dots on 22 rifles and pistols. I'm guessing you won't be running it hard so those options should work well enough for you.
None of those are the same level as an Aimpoint and I'm skeptical about the BSA on an AR but hey, it's your budget. I do have a buddy who has the Sign red dot on his Spike's (yep, that explains everything you need to know) and it has held zero for over 3k rounds. Not a super high round count but if you're just plinking it will be fine.
You'll also find that many folks on this board are current or former .mil and LEO so they demand a higher grade bit of kit and are less prone to get into dick swinging contests like you seem to be trying to (by demanding to know what kind of AR someone is running on the not so off chance you aren't sure what I'm talking about).
Tapatalk ate my spelling and grammar.
No way was he ever issued a UTG. If you go online and look the price up on something like that you can find them for $35 bones...not the style for purchases by the military. The glass in a good optic cost more than that. If you are really looking for an affordable RDS try primary arms. It is not a duty ready RDS but it should hold up better than your Ranger recommended UTG and its affordable. Check it out here:

I'm not trying to have a dick swingging contest yes I know what your talking about and sorry for the spelling I'm using a cell phone my computer crashed. I could afford an aimpoint or eotech its not like I've bought utg. Just wanted some info on what I could get for a decent price at the moment since I've spent so much on the gun an putting magpul ctr stock on pmags an forgrip kinda put me in the hole right now.
I have used eotech in the past. I was familiar with the sight system. I have never used an Aimpoint before and no shop in the area had any to even look at in person. I ordered a Primary Arms micro for $114 shipped just to see if I could transition from Eotech to Aimpoint without shelling out the $600 for a T-1. I used the Primary Arms sight until I saved up cash for the T-1 and it held up very well. It now lives on my M&P 15-22.
As for my first post, there is nothing I hate more than a guy who recommends sub standard garbage to an un knowing consumer just to make a buck.
The only thing worse than that is someone who tells everyone they are a EX-ranger, seal Devgru, MARSOC, PJ whatever and never spent an effin day in boot camp!
I have a vortex strikefire and it's a great red dot for a decent price, though you said you had a vortex before. I've seen good opinions of their sparc if you like compact red dots.
The Burris scope is decent I think (looks like an acog). I've also seen good opinions of Primary Arms red dots. (edit: Cory posted while I was typing this - I've seen other positive opinions of the PA sights)
Ar15.com might have some suggestions too, though you'll also find people there that say anything less than an Aimpoint is a waste of $.
Anything from UTG or NCStar will probably be met with derision on any firearm forums. I'm sure some people have gotten (or claimed to) a bullet proof scope from these companies, but by large they are considered bottom of the barrel quality wise.
