I introduced my buddy to Ar 15's, I instructed him on where to get his upper and his lower online. He had to wait over a month and had numerous issues getting his upper from a company I won't name. Then he was told twice that his lower had shipped, then on the day his upper finally shipped, the company called him and admitted that they had not sent his lower. So he cancelled the lower order.
With his upper in transit, he was in a hurry to get a lower so I advised him to go to a LGS and buy a CMMG complete lower that they had in stock.
While waiting to get his ar parts, my buddy had purchased every piece of FDE, Magpul, crap known to man. So as soon as he got the lower home, he began to drive out the trigger guard pin, so that he could install an FDE, Magpul, extended, trigger guard. Wouldn't you know, after 2 taps with hammer and punch, the lower broke/snapped right behind the trigger guard where the pins insert.
It looked like a weakness in the forging. the break was very clean. Hey, it happens, so he called CMMG, they told him to FOAD, it wasn't their issue. they said that he must have abused the lower. He had it for all of an hour and it hadn't even seen an upper at that point. The LGS reluctantly split the cost of a new lower with him and installed the parts for him.
Interesting that CMMG cs has been so crappy to so many.
