'Panic Buying' is all hype and only drives prices up^!!!
This happens every Pres election year and IS all hype!!! I've NEVER fallin into "panic buying" and the RIPP-OFF prices that go along with it when it comes time for a new Pres and NEVER will!!!Remember 6920's 4 yrs ago going for $1500-1800+ and flying off the shelfs? The same 6920 today is $1000 or less!!!I say don't buy untill after the elections!
Does panic buying happen on every election year? I have been a gun owner for 6 years and I was not interested in gun/ammo prices prior to that, so I don't know if panic buying is strictly related to Obama or not.
I don't care what you guys say. That 50 gallon drum of BCG's buried in my yard will save me in the middle of a fire fight some day! :shout:
I did my panic buy in 2008 bought my first AR a Bushmaster since sold it and bought a couple colts and a bcm I do buy bulk ammo because i find it's cheaper and I shoot a lot plus I want to have it because it's harder to get because of panic buyers, kind of a negative feedback cycle, panic buyers buy more so I buy more to stay ahead of them As far as elections go I wasn't a gun owner during the Clinton years but I'm just taking precautions because of the horror stories i heard
And IF the ban returns permanently?? Panic buyers may just win out completely. I remember during the old ban years, walking into a gun show in York PA in '99 and seeing the "blue label", "red label" and some "green label" Colt rifles going for $2500-$3000. Those are the 6920s of today correct??? Amazing. Would you rather pay $350/1000 of 223/5.56 or if a ban/tax comes along, $750 or more??
That's because people were complete pussies! I built everything I could to be non compliant with that homo AWB.
I went out of my way to get L.E. guns, Mags, etc.... put flash hiders on every Post Ban lower built gun I had.
Bunch of Molon Labe talk the talk, but not much Walk the walk, Jack!
For the most part, this election year is not like 2008. While sales are up (at least $200K for us), the consumer is being selective in what they "panic buy." In fact I don't know that panic buy is even the proper term, I call it "can't wait" syndrome. For example, hot ticket items are the S&W Shield and Colt 901's. Consumers will pay HUNDREDS of dollars over FULL RETAIL for these items.
I think part of the difference between 2008 and 2012 is that people have a lot less money in their pocket. So they just don't have the same amount of cash they once did.
