These will fit with a .22 jag. I use these Sinclair 1-1/8" patches and a Dewey coated cleaning rod on my "bench" AR. I like the Sinclair brass jags as well.
I don't know which jag you're using but with my pro-shot jag the pro-shot or kleen-bore .22 patches fit my DDM4v7 no problem. Those are both 1.25" patches.
I also switched to using a boresnake for quick cleaning and relegate patches to the less frequent more thorough bench cleanings. The .22 boresnake works great for the every few hundred rounds quick bore cleaning.
If the patches are too thick you can try piercing the patch toward the corner. Or try a different brand/style jag. Also you could wrap the patch around an old bore brush.
go to walmart, they have a whole assortment of patches, all of mine came from there and I have alot!
