Trigger Recomendations
I'm in the final stages of my first custom build. It is built around one of the BCM 20" SAM-R stainless tube, Bravo company BCG, low pro gas block and gas tube and a Ranier Upper. Battle Comp muzzle device and a MI free float hand guard. In the end it will wear a 3-9 Nikon scope. I'm setting this up for predator/varmint action.
Some months ago I built up a custom gun club roll marked lower with a LPK from Grant but it had a standard trigger. No I want a gooood trigger to go with a first class tube. I was thinking of the Geissele SSA-E trigger group. I've looked around some and seems like the only pricing out there is the $210 on the Geissele sight. Am I missing something here or is that the going price from any of the reputable outfits.
What is your experience? Will the SSA-E make me happy plugging furry nusances out to 350 ish yards?

A standard SSA will be fine for that. The SSA-E will be even better.
Having just put in a SSA in my new rifle, I will say that I am a Geisselle fan boy now.
-
I am a big fan of the SSA-E and SSA. I do prefer the E though.

Do a search for SD-E and / or Super Dynamic - Enhanced.
I've babbled on for pages about the SD series over the last year, as have a few others. The flat trigger blade is a great feature.

Both the SAA-E and SD-E are right up your alley. I use the SSA-E in my hunting/paper rifle and I couldn't be happier with it.
If I recall, the mechanics of the two triggers are the same with the exception of the trigger faces. Some say the flat trigger face on the SD-E results in a lighter feeling trigger. I couldn't tell an appreciable difference in the two when I had a chance to compare them side by side.

SSA for a defensive gun and the -E for paper punching, etc. Geissele has other options that are even lighter for "precision" shooting.

+1 on the Super dynamic enhanced. The flat trigger gives a degree of control that isnt in a standard curved trigger. Nice clean break with an excellent reset. IMO its almost a must have for a precision gun

You should hit up Roger Wang at Battle Arms Development.. He packages up the Geissle SSA-E and his standard B.A.D.-A.S.S. or S.T. together for a pretty good combo discount. If you're going for a good trigger... why not add a better selector lever system to work with it. http://shop.battlearmsdevelopment.co...D-ASS-SSAE.htm

I've got the SD-E in my SPR. It is a very nice trigger and leaves nothing to be desired for this type of rifle.
-
SSA-E or SD-E and don't look back.
-
I have the SSA-E on my 18" and love it. I also have a Timney 3# single stage on my duty rifle. For varmits you can't go wrong with the SSA-E.
-
I have an SSA-E in my patrol carbine....but the SD-E is just the ****in HOTNESS.
-
Shot over 10+ years with the standard trigger and when In finally tried a Geissele trigger, it definitely was worth the praises it receives.
Probably the best upgrade I've ever added to the AR.

I should clarify that the SSA-E is fantastic. Period. I'm 100% pleased with it.
I'm prevented from using the Super Dynamic series by the guys in my agency who sign my qual-cards. It doesn't look stock therefore it's not GTG. They could give a damn about Crane/NAVSEC certs or the Geissele name.
The trigger bow itself is moved forward about 1/8" from the sear disconnect line, giving the SD series (any SD trigger) more leverage on the sear. Further, the flat (and wide) bow allows lower trigger finger placement to give you even more leverage. The SD-E feels like a mouse button on a quality Microsoft Mouse. Seriously. It's just cheating. Above the trigger bow, the SD series is identical to the std models (SSA/SSA-E/S3G).
