I was planning to preorder one too but waited and missed out. Hope they open them back up again soon.

Stick-
How well does it dissipate heat? Curious because it has a lot less surface area than say the nsr, dd, etc.
Thanks
It is fine, but I haven't been running anything FA with a can on it trying to melt the gas tube either. Less surface, cools quick with large vents, etc etc..

lightly off topic but gd stick can make any product look so sexy
Stick, you ever wrote that review up for these handguards?
Just got mine installed, so far they seem rather sturdy and easy to install.
I definitely have these in mind for an SPR upper. The lighter weight would offset the weight penalty of the heavier stainless barrels I've been looking to use.
But I am also really digging the new Centurion rails as well. I have a .308 project that is stalled until after I move next month. I was planning on Apex Gatorgrips, but the Centurion .308 rail they showed at shot definitely has my interest.
I just received mine today.
The Fortis rail is well made and lighter than the Centurion C4 because of all the cut-outs and use of the KeyMods.
Fortis Rail - is complete and only a small cutout is where it bolts to the factory barrel nut. (Image 1)
Centurion C4 - comes in 2 halves. This might work better if your low profile gas block isn't that low profile. (Image 2)
One thing you should be aware of is that if you are using either the Fortis or the C4, that the upper should be a mil-spec upper. I have a billet one from TNW which is a lot like the ARFCOM billet upper - the TNW has a much wider area under the 1913 and both the Fortis and the Centurion will not fit - Image 4 and 5. You can see how it is raised about 1/4 inch for both rails.

This is okay since I am going to use the billet one with a traditional delta ring and hand guard.
