LAV and MARTY made me do it! (part 2 added on page 2)
So I was watching LAV show the other night and he was explaining the differences in the carbine Daniel Defense provided for this test and the last one. One thing that caught my eye was the new FSB on the rifle. It has serrations like I put on the back of my 1911 slide, to reduce sun glare. I thought I can do that, so I did.
First I took the FSB to my belt sander, 80 grit paper took about a minute to get a nice flat base to start with.

Then I covered the bare metal with dykum and started cutting my lines with a 30 lpi file. I used the base of the sight tower as my reference point. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps8fbc97ad.jpg
After the lines were all cut to about 50% depth I recoated the FSB in dykum and took them to final depth.

Then I added a quick spalash of flat black Krylon, so I could see how they would look before I cera coat then part. I may point them up with the 60 or 90 degree needle file but I have not decided yet.
