Concur with the PPs who endorsed Geissele SSA triggers. For a pure varmint or range toy, you might want something crisp and single stage, but the SSA is easy to control, reliable and durable. They're to be had for $170 if you get a deal; I've seen that price with a gunshow vendor.
Also concur that the trigger is a good place to spend the money upfront. The SSA just makes hitting so much easier, and it can be squeezed off like a precision trigger, or slapped thru' if all you need is a shot right-freakin'-now.
