Expensive lesson learned from fire.
December 30th of 2012 I learned too always have two things. A gun safe and insurance. I had neither so when I got home that night and seen the Fire Department at my house my heart stopped. I got as close as I could and seen my room was on fire. After everything was safe for me to enter the house I found my BCM RECCE-16 in a state of ruin. Luckily nobody was hurt in the fire. I did lose a few animals which also sucked big time. The rest of the house was just smoked up which can be cleaned up and fixed.
Fast forward too today. I got in my room to clean and gut the room and I found my Springfield Armory Loaded Operator 1911. It was in the same condition my RECCE-16 was in. The Recce-16 hurt cause the amount of money and pride I had in that rifle. Losing the 1911 really hurt cause if felt like I had lost an old friend that can never be replaced. That exact model 1911 is impossible to find from what I have seen since the loaded operators don't come with the full length light rail anymore.
What I am getting at with this thread is don't make the same mistakes I did. I sure as hell won't make them again. Also stuff like this hits you at the worse times because replacing my RECCE-16 is basically impossible at the present time.
What wouldn't of happened if I had a gun safe.

You can replace or rebuild those guns...as important as the safe is an insurance policy for the full amount of the guns...however, insurance can't replace your loved ones...I'll be praying for your best friends, and your losses. God speed friend!
