[QUOTE=jaybirdritenour2;1547374]How many rounds do you have through yours? I'm probably around 2000-3000 rounds through this one.

And new trigger and selector still does it.
Maybe 300-500 only. It's still brand new.
It started to do this on Christmas day for the first time. And I had it a few months before that.
The selector's detent holes must be slightly larger than the detent in order for the detent to slide in and seat, and come out onto the groove again when the lever is rotated.
A little play is inevitable. The detent hole's dimensions can have something to do with how much play there is.
I've seen many ARs, while on SAFE, the lever isn't parallel to the bore, it's a little tilted. Generally it is not a problem.
Yes but mine goes almost half way to safe. But it does have a positive stop at that point.
Can you take a picture of the detent holes and groove?
I have another selector on the way so once I take that one out I will take a pic.
This isn't about our (Battle Arms) selectors, so I hope I won't appear to be hawking our product here :)
The information to follow isn't specific to KAC/LMT selectors, it's general.
I have a dozen cast selectors from various manufacturers, including Colt. Nobody really knows who makes these selectors (LMT makes it for KAC I believe), but this part is known: the dimensions of the detent holes and grooves vary a great deal. Some have shallower detent groove, some deeper, some have shallower detent holes, some deeper.
There doesn't appear to be a standard set of dimensions when it comes to semi auto selectors, as there is for the M16 selector, those are TDP specs, many of these dimensions cannot be used on semi auto only selectors. Excluding the obvious stuff like the extra cams and grooves, you can't use M16 selector detent hols on a semi auto selector, as it will allow you to over rotate, and the groove of an M16 selector is 360 degrees, whereas on a semi, you can rotate within 90 degree only, not beyond.
When you have a picture, you can compare it with ours

Sometimes a new detent can fix the problem.
Knights says it is to do with their 2 stage trigger. But I don't believe everyone has this on their rifle. Some do and some don't. I wish I was one that didn't . It feels like a flaw but they say it is in their spec.
