I would try to stay away from matech folding that the army is using and SOCOM colts come with. It will flip up when not wanted, won't fit under acog or some other optics

I like the MBUS for the weight and the price. I run Aimpoints, so its unlikely I'd ever need a back up sight, but I run them, sight them in and occasionally practice with them, just in case. With the fine aperture I'm able to consistently hit an 8" plate at 200 yards day or night.
If you want to compete or take 600 meter shots, you might want something more precise.
+1, with a couple of additional notes:
GG&G regular (not spring activated) BUIS: yeah, the sight body is high and it has a knob handing in the air (very old-fashioned design), and the same plane version is ridiculously expensive; but, the leaf detent design is the same as for carry handle sights. This means that the flip-style aperture stay in place over the life of the sight, which is better (IMO) than the ball detents used in the Troy, MI, and other sights, which will wear out and become loose (allowing the aperture to inadvertently flip out of place).
LWRCI Skirmish rear: Very well designed and tough sight. Made of SS and 7075 aluminum (not 6061, like most others). One of the few sights that will deploy with the large or small aperture in place (user's choice; others are the GG&G MAD [avoid], MBUS). Hard to find these days.
No, I am not interested in what MarkM has to say about LWRCI products. :D
KAC for me all the way on folders. Especially the micros. For fixed sights I am running a set of DD's on my 10.5" but I'd like to switch to a LaRue rear BUIS with the throw lever because I'm wanting a rear that removes quickly and easily.
Unfortunately I recently missed a couple LaRue's for sale on the EE.
I just purchased a Sig 716 and can't wait to go pick it up. I
was wondering if anyone had an thoughts on what type of optics
I should use?
KAC is the best.
Diamondhead also allows you to choose which apeture. They seem to be pretty decent sights.
Get mbus and save the rest for ammo or put towards an optic
I would suggest picking up a used MBUS to try out and see if you like it and then go from there. Some of these sights are really expensive. Ask me how I know.
If money is not an issue, go for the KAC.
