Re: Buffer/Spring set up in your Piston System
I have an A5 buffer system that I had previously been running on a PWS MK114. The gun was used a fair amount with a suppressor attached and the PWS really needed the longer spring and extra heavy buffer with the can in place. The recoil parts combo seemed to have no ill effects on the gun and it ran well without the can too.
I have since sold the rifle but I kept the VLTOR parts and now have them on a Ruger SR556E. I haven't used the combo much yet but my initial experiences have been positive.
Slash at heavybuffers.com does make custom buffers for the A5 system as well. I believe he can make a buffer that's heavier than the H4 if anyone is looking for such a thing.

Tok, thanks for chiming in. I might shoot Clint (slash) an email. But he would need to be able to duplicate the buffer's interior spring and weight spacing so that the advancements regarding timing and consistency of ROF and unlocking speed aren't lost just to move to a heavier buffer.
I had him make a custom carbine buffer for me before i discovered the A5 system and it was very high quality.

In fact, my little brother uses his carbine buffer with a Springco White in his Rainer Arms lower. That white spring shoots as close to the A5 setup as any other carbine spring I've used.
