I'm just being goofy. Some will remember the first thread I had by that name where I had posted a my silly gun at the time, which developed into a lot of great advice and ribbing at my expense with comments like "the 80s called and it wants its M4 back" and such.
Fun and education (at least for me) was had that day.
All good.
What you recommend for chopped VFG? I want to learn more about slings and try some before deciding on that one. My old M4 had a single point sling (which was all the rage back in the day for about 10 minutes and were big with the SWAT guys I knew, and they gave one to me) and left the gun hanging like a turd under your arm.
There are stubby VFGs out there which is what I'd run on that rail.
Magpul themselves make a fairly short VFG. Troy has the stubby VFG. I prefer the Daniel Defense convertible VFG on my SBR, I use the shorten version.
Read Larry Vickers write up on the advantages and disadvantages of the single point versus the modern adjustable two point slings.

I had a CAA SVG on one of my old rifles. I liked it a lot. There are probably a lot more options now though.
I run the stubby TangoDown VFG myself. I have a Larue FUG lying around in a drawer somewhere; I much prefer the TD unit.
I'm no expert or anything close, but I have experimented with the AFG quite a bit. Personally I like it, but only on a longer rail, for me 11" is about right. If you're locking your arm at full or near full extension with a thumb over the top they make for a better wrist angle. On a carbine I find them awkward.
