Cheaper than paying for factory match ammo. And the technique works good. I took 4 MOA Herters, changed the bullet to a Sierra matchking... and turned it into 1 moa ammo.
That's a good idea. With the Herters did you replace the powder as well?

I'm not too happy either, I would like to see 10rd groups inside that 8" circle at 300 yards so I'll be using a better rest (pack, as lebowski said) and better ammo.
My main reason for making the thread was given the conditions and ammo were those groups decent? It appears that they were and now I can get to shrinking them with expensive ammo that won't be wasted on poor fundamentals. Although with ammo prices these days, I can probably replace Hornady Superperformance for the same price as M193.
Mark, is that Mexican ammo you speak of the same stuff you use in your turf wars with Grant?
To me it would be a question of time in addition to the other variables.
I really like to use steel at distance (pretty much anything past 100 meters unless I'm being anal about precision for some reason), and work on how fast I can get hits on a specific target size. I really like 8" plates at 500ish, but a BCC at 300 gets a lot of work done as well, especially for 5.56 guns.
