Noveske 10.5 upper switchblock question
For those who own the Noveske 10.5" uppers I am looking for any information on the importance/differences between having one with a switchblock vs. no switchblock. I am looking to run either a YHM phantom QD or AAC SDN-6 with this particular upper. After reading an earlier thread regarding issues with the noveske improperly cycling with XM193 and reading threads from other sites stating that there were issues running a 7.62 suppressor with a noveske upper I am interested in everyone's expert advice/opinions. Should I go with a different upper altogether? Is there a 5.56 SBR upper that can run with a 7.62 suppressor?

I can not speak to your .556 to 7.62 question directly from personal experience. That said, I have used my SF .556 suppressor for a TacSol .22LR upper M4 equipped with a SF flash-hider. The tolerances are much tighter than .22 to .30 cal. My guess is a) the unit will not suppress sound very well (as noise, gas, flash can escape with the round) and b) you may damage the 7.62 suppressor from a baffle strike.
The SDN-6 suppresses 5.56 about as well as a m4-2000, it just weighs more and is longer. However, how do you figure that a larger hole increases chance of a baffle strike? Everyone else seems to agree with the logical thing, which is that more clearance equates to less of a chance of a baffle strike.

But there's more clearance on a 7.62 can so any instability has less of a chance of striking.
