Which Eotech should i buy.

If you want a lower 3rd co witness, get the EXPS series. 7 mm riser built in. The G33 magnifier comes with a 7 mm riser so things line up with either. If no co witness wanted, the XPS series are excellent. If you don't need NV compatibility, the EXPS2 or XPS 2 are what you can look at.

Go through your requirements one at a time to select what you need. Eotech web site has a product selector based on features.

The OPMOD is a good unit. It's built on the EXPS3 chassis but has no night vision circuitry. If you take the hood off, the NV button is still there, just disabled.

OPMOD logo doesn't wipe off though. I ended up having the hood cerakoted for $25, which worked out fine.

I personally haven't tried but I did read accounts of guys using brake or carb cleaner & supposedly, it comes right off.

Well I think I talked myself into an Aimpoint T-1, I have heard nothing but good about the T-1 and more negative things about the Eotech so I want a good dependable optic.

The problems of the older 500 series Eotechs did not carry over to the XPS & EXPS models. They are good to go.

I have been running an XPS and now an EXPS on my work AR daily for the past several years. I simply set a reminder to change the battery once every 60 days.

Good choice. I own both an XPS 2-0 and an H-1. Both have their ups and downs. The (E)XPS line from EOTech is about as good as it gets for EOTech. I have mine on a Larue riser. Works for my needs.

I'd add that one of the more popular line of advice in this thread still rings true for your Aimpoint purchase: if you don't need night vision capability, and don't plan on diving with it, then go with the H-1, and put some of the money saved towards a good mount.

Also consider the Aimpoint PRO, as well, if the micro/XPS size isn't a factor.

Again as nickdrak said, the XPS/EXPS seem to have fixed the issues EOTech had been known for. Now the only real argument is battery life vs reticle. Personally I just want one of each.

I have a T1, H1, Eotech 522, Aimpoint Comps, and recently picked up a couple EXPS 0-3's.

I never experienced problems with my older Eotech, but then I only used them on MP5's, so there wasn't really much recoil.

The T1/H1's are really robust with outrageous battery life, but I found they were harder for me to use because of the smaller aperture.

The Aimpoint Comp (or Pro) are much easier to use for forward mounting because of the larger opening.

I really like using the EXPS's now because as I get older, I seem to need a larger FOV.

Mounting the optic forward in allows you to have a wider field of view peripherally, I think that's why they refer to it as the 'scout' mount.

I ordered the T-1 from Larue With the Larue mount.

Because it keeps your field of view open, I see people run their rds sights close to their eye and it slays me, run it forward on your rail setup, keep both eyes open.
