I can remember maybe 35 years ago when I was that impatient. I wasn't that imprudent though. I would have suffered through to Monday and taken it to the LGS. I am so glad I have a little patience now. I do have to admit though it really helps having some shit to play with while waiting for the latest project to come to fruition. Waiting and waiting. Patiently waiting.
Wow. I've done some impulsive and stupid things in my time, but this is quite astounding. I don't get it. Oh, well.
Any of you guys ever had something shipped in next day air for $65 when you could have got it shipped ground for $15 waited a few days? This guy is only six times as bad as you! :)
Just wow.
I to have a SR15 mod.0 upper, I too had the rail removed. However I had Rainier do it and pin a Vltor gas block at the same time. They also installed a 12" DD RIS II.
I have since then assembled another 11.5" upper with a BCM HF barrel and the URXII that came on SR15, I also ground and used the set screw KAC gas block on this upper.
Since then I have removed the RISII from the SR15 upper myself at home and install a 15" SMR, awesome set up. I was able to use the RISII on yet another build.
You did it all wrong IMO. Why you would sacrifice that rail, whether you wanted it or not is beyond me. It would have sold on the EE for more than what it would have cost to have some one like rainier do, and install a PINNED gas block, which you still do not have.
Epic fail of true internet proportions, well done Sir.
oh, and ibtl
I'm going to want a "WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT" the next time I am forced to look at something like that.
