I think DD discontinued the 16" 5.56 S2W.
Just out of curiosity, you wouldn't have the weight of that particular barrel, do you? That barrel seems like it would be ideal for a suppressed Recce rifle.
ETA: The 16" barrel, though if you have the specs for the 18" that would be good to have as well.
The DD website does not show the weight for the 18". However, Rainier Arms offers a similar profile (looks identical actually) but it is in 416R stainless rather than DD's in 4150 CMV (Salt Bath Nitride finished). The 16" Rainier MEDCON in stainless is 30.4 oz, the 18" Rainier MEDCON is 33.3 oz. I imagine the density of the materials is different, so the 18" DD may differ from the 18" Rainier.
The 16" DD S2W barrel is 2 lbs 2.0 oz. I had to call DD to get the 16" version about a year ago. I believe stainless tends to be a little denser than chromoly.

I asked DD if they carry the S2W in 16'' through Facebook, and they replied that they currently only offer the 18''. Not sure if that means they plan on bringing it back anytime soon, but it'd be great if they would. The salt bath nitride is a nice touch.
So what is everyone's opinion. Is the S2W barrel (4150 CMV, non-CL, Salt Bath Nitride finish) accurate because of its profile, or because of the lack of CL on an otherwise well made barrel? Not to imply a CL barrel isn't great, but we know how that can detract from accuracy. The reason I bring this up refers back to the offering from gandrtactical.com. Grant has a DD barreled upper. 16", government profile, non-CL, Salt Bath Nitride finish. Pinned LPGS and standard barrel nut, ready for a FF rail setup. Complete with DD BCG. I have heard this is printing 1" 100yd groups.
