I'm debating on which rail I want on my newest build. I'm leaning toward a 10" C4, but the Midwest rail system (same length) looks very similar and is quite a bit less expensive. Is the C4 worth the extra money? If so, why?

The C4 mounting is rock solid. I have been very impressed with mine, very light and very well machined.
^ Although, midwest makes a quality product and shouldnt be hesitant to buy aswell. Either are good options, just depends on the wallet.
Id spend the difference and buy a nicer bolt/trigger etc with the money youd save from buying midwest. IMO
I can agree with that. BCG/barrel are heart of rifle, spending money here is wise. QMS trigger doesn't break bank for quality. Also training class is wise investment. I am kind of curios about which MI rail OP is referring to and to what purpose. Will still end on C4's (no chance in hell of movement/rotation) lock up on barrel nut. But if runnin DPMS BCG, in a Mossberg AR barrel, upgrade these first and get MOE.
They are both made from T6-6061 aluminum, only difference I can see on paper would the mounting type and anti rotation tabs.
MI no rotation tabs vs Centurion Anti rotation tabs
They both use standard ar15 barrel nuts for mounting!
This arguement plays in my head whenever building an upper die to the prices of nice rails. I end up spending the money elsewhere.
.02oz!
Definately another reason I would go with the midwest..
I have a 16" DD lightweight barrel w/ mid-length system. I'm not sure what my BCG is. I know it's a semi-auto; I bought it online from someone on arf.com about 5 years ago, in my (much) less educated days. It's probably a DPMS or Bushmaster. http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/si...the-toilet.gif. That's on the immediate table for upgrade.
This is MI handguard I was looking at: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Midwe...mctar-24g2.htm
It says for low profile carbine length systems, but I'm wondering if I could put a low pro mid-length one. Anyone know?
You can put any length on any system. As long as you have a Low enough gas block ( shaved or low pro ).
Any particular reason you want a 2 piece free float? Check out their Gen 2 T series if not. It's caught my eye and I will doing one for my next pistol and longer range build due to price efficiency.
