This is from Rainier's Facebook page. Looks like some d-bags are selling knock offs. I know most everyone here buys from reputable stores so shouldn't have much to worry about.

wow. this might be second on my list of "wtf, they really counterfeit these?" right behind larue index clips
Tells you something about how good the original product is in this case, that someone would even go to the trouble of offering such a close copy. I'm half-surprised it was caught this quickly, unless a clone failed and was sent back to Rainier for inspection or something.
I really have no stomach for this counterfeit crap. These people ought to be flogged, early and often.

Emailed Rainier about a certain vendor who had Raptors CH on sale last week, to see if they were an authorized dealer. They said they were aware they were selling their CH but were not an offical dealer, so I passed. Is there any more info who the dealer(s) are? Not sure if it is the same dealer I inquired about.
Yet another reason to avoid Ebay like the plague…
I just received my fake one like above today for $75 shipped. I picked up on both details, but did not think much about it, until I got home from work and read this post. It will be going back. And this was not off ebay.
All Rainier has said is "Arms Unlimited" is not an authorized dealer. I'm sure they are on top of this and taking legal action.

Arms unlimited was selling fake "bullet buttons" so I would stay away from this site all together.
Damn, I was just about to pull the trigger on their Aimpoint Micro sale.
I think it has a lot more to do with the cost of producing the copy compared to the cost of what they can sell it for!
Given what an authentic Raptor sells for, and what it must cost to make, Rainier Arms is making a boatload of $$ on them. The bootlegger is making more of a killing based on what must be lower quality materials and the fact that they had no engineering/research costs in copying Rainier's design. Arms Unlimited is selling the copies (allegedly) for about the same price that Rainier is selling the authentic ones.
Is there any history of AR counterfeits being sold by reputable suppliers?
"These are what we have." Really? Wow.
Well, that is certainly cautiously-worded ... these guys have got to know that they are going to be looking at a lawsuit before too long. You would think they would be playing the "we were not previously aware of this, and are doing all that we can to address it," angle.
Unless they are just a shady knock-off operation from the get-go. Not familiar with them myself.

It's as if they are not admitting to any wrongdoings. Kinda like saying "we had counterfeits on hand so thats what we sold."I guess they don't want to incriminate themselves. Hopefully you receive a quick refund.
I am willing to bet they know they are scamming the crap outta folks. I dunno how many times I have seen new gun enthusiasts get screwed on fake Aimpoints.
Due to availability I almost got mine from Amazon but then a final check of BCM finally showed it in stock lol.
(don't remember what amazon retailer it was)
For those of us who don't know, which is the genuine Raptor and which is the knock-off in the above pictures? I recently received one from a well known retailer with roll pins like the lower one in the right pic. The roll pins are sort of coiled up on themselves... there is definitely no gap like the pins shown on the upper one (right pic). Did I get a legit Raptor?
Thank god I've only ordered my raptors from Rainier. That is a pretty good fake.
Shameless punks incapable of original thought who copy a product or knowingly pass it on....... equal the common thief, the stinking scumbag loser who breaks into your house to take your stuff because he can't earn his own.
Ordered mine direct from RA and it came in the correct packaging and everything. The only sure way to know you're not buying clone products these days is going through reputable dealers or straight from the source.
I will not be buying these used I guess. I really want one but the cost scares me.
