Would you sale an old bushmaster to fund a new project?
I have this rather old bushmaster xm-15 that was made during the so called "assault rifle ban." It does not have a flash hider, no bayonet lug (which is no big deal to me), carry handle, 1:9 twist barrel and carbine gas system. I thought about selling it to help fund my this build.
However, every time I sale a firearm I regret it later on. Back around 1987 I sold a stainless steel mini-14 with folding stock. I regret that sale to this day.
Its not like I am going to sale the bushmaster and then blow the money. If I got enough money I would turn around and buy a BCM upper.
One of the issues is the AR market right now; it is not really a sellers market. A walmart employee in the sporting goods section told me they have not sold an AR in about a month, and that is with 4 of them sitting in the rack. The local pawn shops are telling me the same thing, sales have hit rock bottom.
Part of me says to keep the bushmaster, keep it in the safe and use it to teach the grandkids how to shoot.
