Looks like a similar design to the reaction rod. At its price point, looks very attractive

Another Botach rip off. Hopefully Bill can sue him. I know a few people who have been affected by his copying of products.
The brownells was out before the the Reaction rod, only difference is that flats are milled for a vise. Its not like Bill came up with idea out of the blue, he used the idea and refined it.
I have never used either but would it be possible to machine flats in the Brownells rod to essentially replicate the Reaction Rod?

I saw some posts on here a month or so ago about people who have done that. They also get the benefit of being able to strap a wrench to it. Just a little more flexibility in what your doing.
I love Bill's products, was one of his first adpoters of the hi-speed when I was shooting hi-power.
I am just a little pissed that he comes out with a product that is competitive, then doubles the price overnight.
Whether it's right, or wrong.....Geissele actually depends on making a profit on the products they manufacture, in order to stay in business.....let alone continue to be one of the biggest innovators within the AR market.
So if Geissele makes Reaction Rods.....they have to justify their expense or overhead by being profitable, or GA will simply continue to allocate their resources/time by running the product lines that are in constant high demand, and turn a healthy profit.....aka. GA triggers, SMR rails, SGBs, etc.
That's my more detailed explanation.....here is the short and skinny from Mr. Geissele himself:
" Sometimes you get into a project and the initial cost estimates are not what you planned for. Either the price gets raised or the plug gets pulled. A machine running without making money is a fast way to the poorhouse. "
I'll happily spend a bit more for a Geissele Automatics' manufactured/designed product over a half ass/ ripped off botach copy of it. I want GA to be mega profitable....that means their "skunkwerks" will continue to grow, and they'll continue to innovate awesome new kit, or even rifles one day. YMMV :)
at least this one is not $100
Geissele has to build in distributor pricing. Botach does not. That is the major difference.
I think Geissele originally made these for themselves (with little profit in them) and then sold out pretty quick. If I am not mistaken, these were available for close to a year at the $49 dollar price. So it isn't like they had them out for a month and then raised the price.

Gotcha grant.
I guess if you are doing a few builds and want the tool for non proffesional use it would be fine.
If your using it as a tool that gets used daily in a shop, spring for the G. Atleast you know Bill will take care of you if an issue arises.
Wasn't the G rod originally used in house for working on HK uppers as part of their rail contract? IIRC, it was based on the tool that HK uses. I've got one and love it. Botach can suck it.
Yet another reason to never do business with Botach.
