GREEN dot sights?

I mostly became a fan of green with fiber optic sights,I noticed I could see the green one hell of lot better then red....

I may just get a half way decent green dot sight and play with it,Redfield has a new one that looks fun and I think it has red/green dot.

And I never "lost" the green on vegetation with the FO,the dot may be a different story.

Oh well we'll see.

I remember reading a while back someone took an Aimpoint and modified it to green.

Maybe a green dot infront of a PVS-14 wouldn't work as well as a red dot?

Also maybe so you preserve your regular night vision in low light situations?

No it's not. There's tons of red things in nature. It's just that in most environments, green and brown is more common. Now I agree you'd think red would be easier because of that.




Robins, red wing blackbirds, roses, cardinals, fall foliage, several variety of snakes and amphibians (typically poisonous), etc.

According to the charts shown, even the red "jammed" at 11 pulls less power than green at lowest setting, so the battery life would still be longer.

Definitely not a "sales gimmick." Depending on what brand you used, but a quality green will definitely be brighter and more powerful than its red counterpart. You can still see a green laser in bright daylight where as a red disappears. At night you can pretty much see the hole green beam where a red you cannot. Lots of differences, but those are the simplest.

I have no ****ing clue why the USMC decided to put the yellow RMR on top of the x6 ACOGs when working in the desert.
