They just issued RRA's to our local swat team. But it's better than the Bushmasters currently issued (eyes rolled)
The end users at the bottom of the heap aren't the ones making the decisions.
Also, being LE does not qualify one as a "gun guy" anymore than it qualifies them as an "OC guy", "Ford Crown Vic guy", "baton guy", or "handcuff guy." It's just one of many tools they carry that sites like this and others focus on.
Agreed.... any more than being an accountant makes a person a "pen guy" or being a baker makes a person an "oven guy".
hmmm..
Could anyone? It seemed to me while the ban was on (I was young back then as well) Colts were only collectors items not discussed without first mentioning the color of the label on the end of the box. Colt was also hated on big time back then and prior for blocked receivers, nonstandard pins, goofy carriers, bayonet lug and flashhider removal, all for PC points. I was specifically told on many occasions to avoid Colt... now im dragging guys by the scruff of the neck to whoever has a good price on Colts.
Dare I mention other previous silliness such as Delta Elite packages with cheek risers and rubber armored 3x9 scopes :bad:
I don't know what they're thinking over there. I do know that the local pd here allows only LMT, colt, and now bushmaster as their personal long guns. Idk why they are considering the bushmaster on par with the first two but they are now so that says something.
What makes anyone in this thread think they actually shoot them enough for it to matter?
That's basically what I was thinking. What grade do people around here consider RRA to be? Better than Bushmaster, DPMS, worse than PSA (I honestly don't know how the makers beyond the handful respected here as solid quality rank)?
These are going to officers who do what? Put maybe 1000 rounds a year tops through them, and probably just in training and maybe some personal time? Surely a mid/lower mid-grade rifle is adaquate for that?

Even though I respect Colt now I still don't like them because of all that crap from way back then.
But I understand RRA has quite a few "non-commercial" contracts, and I think bp7178 is right for as little as they will get used I don't' think they will be pushed to the point of failure.
