Why the extended one?
Why do people hate extended slide catches on 1911s? Do they damage the gun in some way?

Thank you! I have never seen or heard of much improvement if any from using a FLGR. Only the increased ass pain to disassemble (not that it's that hard to begin with)

seems like a common misconception on some forums about bomar-type sights is that their durability issue is with regards to getting banged around on stuff... but my experience has always just been that the pins will creep out from just shooting them.

runner up would be the long slides that have 6"+ barrels.
Never had them break, but never been clear on the value of adjustable sites on a combat/SD/CCW handgun.
At distances I'd practice, or compete (IDPA for example), or take courses, or fight, am I adjusting for windage and elevation? I can see the potential value on a target gun of some sort. Am I missing something there?
