Armalite is the only company Ive seen that gives a specific dimension for the McFarland rings for the M15 and AR10.
And according to Armalites old ARFCOM FAQ,stated they hold the trademark on the McFarland FWTW..

As stated in the many links on the subject,Ive been using the McFarland rings for years in various AR15's and haven't had any issues with the rings from a known source.
