Amipoint H1 or Trijicon ta33

There are allot of good suggestions here, but most if not all are a moot point until you can find something that works for "you".

What works for others may or may not work for you. To be honest, you may have to try a couple different optics before you are completely happy with your decision. Ask me how I know :suicide: You can ask a ton of questions, and do a ton of research, but it will still just be someone else's opinion.

I went through 2 1-4x and a couple different magnifiers with Eotech's and aimpoint's until I found my comfort zone with the TA33.

That being said, I still have a T-1 on one of my AR's because of the fact that I can't part with such an outstanding optic.
Of coarse the TA33 ends up getting the most use.

You will find your favorite, it may just take some trial and error. Hopefully you will maybe get lucky, and find what you are looking for the first try.

I have a TR24 (green triangle reticle), a VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x24, an Aimpoint Micro H-1, a Trijicon RMR dual illum amber 7 MOA dot, and I used to have an EOTech EXPS2 (which I sold to a friend). The TR24 is on my POF P415, the VX-R Patrol is stored for a future build, the H-1 is on a CX4 Storm, and the RMR is on my Versamax Tactical shotgun. They're all great optics in their own right, but there isn't one that all things to all people.

I'm also interested in trying the TA33 (green horseshoe reticle). For all I know, it might be the last AR optic that I buy, but I doubt it.

I own a T1 and a TA33 with the green horseshoe. I'll echo what others have said. Its really up to personal preference. The red dot has been my go to for several years. But since I acquired the TA33 I've found my T1 mostly sits on my bedroom gun and only comes out for practice. I have the TA33 on my general purpose/ farm rifle. I feel more comfortable taking shots at longer distances with it. Cats and coyotes are just easier for me to hit at 100+ yds with the TA33. And with practice, I'm proficient enough for my personal needs up close. I say borrow one and see how you like it. I also used to use a magnifier behind the T1 but didn't care for the extra bulkiness and weight.

I would like to try one before I bought/traded for one. Sad thing is the closest person I know that owns one is in Texas. I doubt he (my uncle) would ship it to me just to try it out.

Aimpoint is more practical. But if you live out in the sticks the magnification may come in handy. Define your mission and go on from there.

If you are near Southern Maryland you can try my TA33R-8.

I bought a TA33 very early on, based on what I thought I wanted. As a rookie shooter it was very slow for me at close range. I now use a Micro H1 but want to try going back to the TA33 and see how it works.

Next 3-gun I am going to bring 2 rifles to try:
Micro H1 with fixed BUIS
TA33R8 with offset BUIS

I really like the TA33R. I haven't found it to be slower than my red dots; I've been using my TA33 for two years now. I made the switch because of some astigmatism and scarring on my eye began causing me issues at distance. That said, I also like the low power Leupold Fire Dot optics as well. The dots on them don't give me the same issues as the Aimpoints.

Don't forget that the TA26 is also a small 1.5x scope. Not sure why they made 2 different models (one with integrated base?). I know someone writing this post has one for sale on the EE right now, so full disclosure, and all that.

I'm in Upper Marlboro. I do sometimes go to MSAR to shoot when I can. I might just have to take you up on your offer.
