Have you had a chance to shoot with it yet? I shot mine out to 600 yards last week and really like it so far. The glass isn't quite as crisp as the Vortex PST 1-4, but for $250, it seems like an awesome optic and I really like the extra 2x over the Vortex. I also really like the field of view on the PA, and the ACSS reticle really works well for making quick hits on man sized targets from close range out to long ranges (600 + yards).

Here is a short video from our last shooting day, with me running my PA 1-6. We did a little timed run and gun competition with multiple different guns/optics, shooting targets at 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, and 400 yards. It wasn't anything crazy, and just for fun, but I had the fastest run out of our 7 shooters with my 16" gun with the PA 1-6 optic. For the price, I think it's definitely a very well thought out variable optic.

Nice shooting. I have the PA 1-6x on my 16" DD middy in a LT-139 mount. I like the setup so far (just wish it was lighter). The furthest I've shot with mine so far is 400 yards at a buddy's farm. He has the ability to go out to 600m so we may try that this or next weekend if we have time. I'll be running the PA in a Vicker's Carbine class this Sunday so we'll see how the scope fares.

I read everything available online about this scope and decided to try one out. I just picked one up but haven't had the opportunity to mount it or go the the range. Let me say that for the price, it's a great scope. The VXR and PST offer noticeably better glass, but they also cost more.

Illumination at 6 isn't visible against bright objects, but the reticle is always easy to see. Probably the thing that I will have to get used to coming from an RDS is the narrow eye relief. Not sure if this is just with the PA 1-6x or is an issue with all variables. I obviously did not expect the same available range of movement as with an Aimpoint, but my initial impression is that it does seem very narrow.

I should have posted sooner but have been pretty busy. I have put quite a few rounds down field using this scope. I love it. I have never used anything better so my opinion is biased. However, when I ordered this I was expecting to get something that would work but not blow me away. I was wrong. I is super clear and crisp. The reticle is bold enough to be useful but faint enough to not get in the way. So far I have not found anything I am not pleased with. I would certainly recommend it. My only complaint is due to my own fault. I ordered the blemished model thinking it would be a scratch on the paint but the blemish was a small fleck of paint on the inside of the front lens. It does not get in the way but it is noticeable.

Anybody know how to buy one of these PA 1-6x?? I know the answer is "Direct from PA's website", but all their 1-6x are out of Stock and say expected availability is many months away. How did people get ahold of these were they pre-production samples?

There was an initial run that sold out fairly quickly. I bought mine off the EE. Until the next run comes out, best bet is to keep an eye out in the classifieds.

Okay sorry if I'm getting off-topic but I always want to hear your comparison to other similar offerings in price range (what else are forums for?).

Problem is, from my searching there is no other 1-6x in this ~$250 price range?
Next step-up, that I can find, is a Sightron SIII 1-7x at $800, hard to draw a comparison there with the big price difference (3x the price are you really getting 3x the scope?); then it's too the moon from there on price, or drop-back to 1-4x to get back into the sub $500 range. Clue me in if I'm missing something here.

Did some longer range shooting with my DD/PA 1-6x combo last week. Shot 60 rounds of Tula from the 100-300 yard line. My BDC is set for 62gr XM855 but it was accurate with the Tula on a 14"x14" gong. There is also a 9" wide by 7" tall piece of excavator track that my buddy made into a target. We moved back to the 400, 500 and 600 yard mark. Made easy hits on both at 400. At 500, the gong shots were doable and I was 2 for 2 on the small(er) target. At 600, it took some concentration and good fundamentals but the BDC was accurate and I put some hits on the gong. I also went 1 for 3 on the small target to finish the shooting. No match ammo, no special bipods, just using the magazine as a monopod. Had 2 witnesses as well. Will be doing it again this week.

Too much scope, $, for your intended use in my opinion. Weaver or redfield 2-7 would be fine. I bought one when they first came out and returned it for a variety of reasons, most notably it had a smaller eye box than a TA31. That's a deal breaker for me.

Looked at a bunch of scopes yesterday.

Tr24 1-4, vortex hd2 1-6, and some other brand that I don't remember, wasn't illuminated.

I was disappointed with how much, I'm assuming parallax, there was at 1x in the vortex. To be honest, for its price tag, I just can't see the value. I didn't get to shoot it. Just look indoors and out the window. The salesman invited me to try out his personal one in a couple of weeks. I didn't feel that great on 1x with both eyes open. Honestly, even when illuminated, I didn't like it. It's good glass, just was really disappointed as I wanted a 1-6 that could double as a fair reflex sight. It was crazy heavy too.

The accupoint on the other hand was effing amazing. At 1x it felt true 1x. I have no le or mil experience. Just a farmer that loves to shoot. Most wannabe combat I've ever seen is a paint ball match.

I felt like I could look at that 1x tr24 all day long. It was better than the aimpoint pro for clairty and sight picture. Obviously it's not an aimpoint, but just glass to glass, I was in love. But I want more zoom than 4x. And I could see the triangle of the tr24 being an issue for long distance as it's something like 4.? moa. The whole time I was looking, I couldnt help but think, tr24 in a 1-6x, with a smaller triangle, or acog like reticle, would be a thin slice of heaven. Then I read about the VCOG. Hell yes! Until I see that it's over $2k and not even available yet...... So no.

I guess I'll just wait until the PA 1-6 is available.

If trijicon built a 1-6 or 8x accupoint with fiber optic, and a sub tension or a good bdc reticle , battery instead of tritium, no post in the sight picture, and keep the price under $900, I think we'd have it made.
