That's because there is nothing inherently wrong with the basic Commander design (so long as you stick to the actual Commander design, 4.25" with a bushing), so they don't by default need anyone to do anything to "make them run" aside from a hand to squeeze the grip safety and a finger to pull the trigger.
I've owned literally a dozen Colt Commanders and Combat Commander variations over the years, and zero of them had any functional issues. That includes a couple of 1970s Combat Commanders that look like they were built by monkeys who'd turned the lights on after hours and were cranking out guns for fun; they are ugly with all sorts of tool marks and weird contours, but they function fantastic.
