I too use to carry a 580SBK. I didn't find it large, seemed like a normal sized knife. The handle to blade weight ratio is way out of wack on it though. A word of caution, when my barrage failed (twice) the blade locked up completely. Like half open. This was after it had started "auto firing" (ie. you had to engage the safety to keep it closed). It's now relegated to a car knife. I'll never get another assisted knife. With the manual Axis it's just as fast as an auto (until you get to the really big blades like the Contego), so I'd stick with manuals and push button autos for folders.

Benchmade's CS is awesome though.

As for the OP: you want the 940 Osborne as mentioned earlier. It's a really nice little knife. Price not an object I'd probably take the 940 over a Sebenza if the 940 had a TI handle.

Chill is the best folder I know of under $20, and better than many which are 2x the cost! Great backup/glove box knife.

Hard to beat a grip... Once you get used to the lock it spoils you. And is closest to a sheath knife I know of.

My EDC is a full size grip

I have been pleased with cost and quality of the Benchmade knives I have purchased (Griptilian, Mini Barrage and Volli Axis). I tend to carry the Volli or a ZT350 due to the assisted opening feature.

Does not compute. If any Benchmade has this sort of issue, it should be sent to them for repair/replacement. I've had mine since it came out in limited pre-production, mine is limited edition #'ed. I've carried it every single day since then, and it still functions perfectly.

I know, and it was sent back to them for this issue twice. It works now, but it's relegated to a car knife.

Mine too is a first production (under #100).

Love my 520 presidio

I have a ZT 350, but got this 360.SKD for Xmas. I like the blade better for every day use.

I really like my BenchMade 580bk Barrage. The size feels right to me and carries well. The handle scales were way too slick as it came but that was fixed with fine stippling. I'm working on some black canvas mycarta scales right now that will slim it down a bit and improve the purchase. As for the assist mechanism it has been rock solid.

Yeah, if fixed twice, I might have to shelve it too. Shame. Mine is #925/1000 so maybe they got better as they produced more. :dirol:

Based on my personal experience I would still recommend them. I can see how you wouldn't though.
