I got to handle this rifle for a bit at Shot and although I don't like the looks, the butt pad convex design rocks up and down on your shoulder really well.

True. I still can't sell off these two. :)

If the current furniture were on my DDM4 when I purchased it...I honestly would have left them on.
Instead - I now have BCMGUNFIGHTER Grip Mod1 + MOE ACS-L...so no changing here!
The stock and grip have grown on me. Not only that, Joe Marler has explicitly said that it works well for those with a beard... so there goes that criticism.
The stock and grip have grown on me also and look at all the PR it has brought to DD...brilliant.
Here are some ideas based on whats been posted so far.

How wide is the grip? Is it your basic "A2 width" or wider?
a little wider than the A2 in my hand…
Actually in hand these parts feel really good. They are solid, not heavy, and offer definite improvements over the previous A2 and MOE.
The over molded rubber is slightly soft, but not at all tacky. The 2 included butted choices are great, the cheek weld feels good, the rotation-limited cups are a nice touch and the adjustment lever operates a lot easier than any other stock I've used. The integrated trigger guard feels good, as does the grip (though I prefer a grip with a beavertail like the MOE or Umbrella G23).
And a few people have brought up the main point- these are OEM parts (that are also offered stand alone). they don't add any retail cost, and if you don't like them , replace them like most of us have done with the previous parts. These allow DD to take more control over parts availability in their manufacturing chain and that alone makes a lot of sense for them. Furniture choice is very personal and a lot of us will still change out parts to our own preferred choices...
After having played around with them for all week, I'd guess a lot more buyers will be leaving the OEM furniture on their DD guns than they did before.
Thanks, Jason.
I was able to play around with these at shot as well. Ugly, yes. Functional, sure. I didn't care a bit for the vfg and the stock wasn't that great. It felt ok and I hated the rubber but the dual buttpad option was nice. I could get used to the convex version while wearing a chest rig or armor. As for the grip, I'm on the fence. I prefer the smaller grips like my small insert MIAD and the dd was small but it had finger groves which I hated. All in all, not bad for an oem stock set. Better than m4 furniture but worth upgrading if your budget allows.
