We Dohn need no steekin' 4140 !
I am stunned. This morning, it said "4140 CMV". I did not imagine it. I did not dream it. I did not make it up. They are doing some quick-edits on that site. I remember DISTINCTLY that it said "4150 CMV" some weeks ago, and was shocked and confused to see "4140 CMV", and now, you're right, it just says "CMV". Well, you're going to have to take me at my word that I saw "4140 CMV", which prompted me to ask about it.
ETA:
I just received an E-mail from Joe Marler. I don't want to just cut/paste it because even though it's not "sensitive" in nature, I just feel dirty doing that. What it amounts to is that DD has made zero changes, he said they still use 4150 ordinance grade steel, except for the stainless MK12. Maybe someone messed up the website? I'll ask.
LOL! In that case, they're actually using neither?
I wonder who's been editing that site. I've always thought their barrels were ORD 4150 as Joe says it is. I could be wrong but I believe it was even listed as so at one point.
All that said, I hope you dont mind the thread drift but now I'm curious and I'm hoping someone in the know chimes in... Does that mean a 4140CMV may actually pass the requirement based on the range given in the milspec and the first chart, assuming all the provided data is correct?
Doesnt matter to me on a semi-auto...
