Is it as good as an H or H2 buffer in this application? Probably not, but it's certainly better than the Carbine buffer that it came with.
The ST-T2 isn't some kind of ju-ju from Spike's. They stole the idea for their buffer design from H&K.
Spike's is oriented to the tacti-cool mall ninja crowd, no doubt, but that doesn't mean that they don't offer some good products. Their 5.45 mid-length uppers are excellent; their "battle triggers" are very nice and comparable to the ALG triggers; some of the barrels they offer from FN and Ballistic Advantage are very high quality; and some of the billet parts they offer from Seekins Precision are very high quality, as well.
But it's the general attitude of their management and their attempt to appeal to the lower end of our society that sets people off. And for good reason. Having skulls and Punisher symbols all over your rifle makes you and other gun owners look bad.
