One of the Nicest 1911's and 1911 Grips I've Ever Seen . . . Pics
This 1911 belongs to a friend of mine, and the photography is all his own. When I saw his pics, I had to share them with you guys. In my opinion, it is by far, one of the most beautiful 1911’s and 1911 grips I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen many.
I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did. I also listed the specs of the gun for those that want to know.

• Challis Grips mammoth tooth grips by Brian Challis
The Supergrades spare no attention to detail. Wilson lets their best and most experienced gunsmiths work on these one at a time until they feel they are perfect. All overruns are dressed, checkering and serrations are trued, barrels are hard-fit, and internals are polished by hand. Slide to frame fit, trigger, and small parts fit is as good as it can humanly be. Only tool steel barstock small parts are used on a forged frame and slide.
Nitre blue
This is an aesthetically pleasant option. The blue on the photos is natural
If you plan to use and clean the gun, be aware that the blue on the narrow rounds and edges
will melt as fast as a snowball in hell. The parts will then have a mixture of blue, purple and gray.
Brian Challis mammoth tooth grips
Some of you already have seen pictures of Challis Grips mammoth tooth grips on his website and on his Facebook page. You might also recognize Brian Challis's work from Army Chief's Harrison built Colt:
https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...lt-1911s/page2
He hand makes some of the best 1911 grips in the world, custom fit to your specific 1911 from all types of materials, including exotic woods. Brian Challis was a world-renowned artist and sculptor before he started grip making. What makes this a very special pattern is that they are made of the molar. Mammoth ivory comes from the incisor (tusk). This where the rich colors and hues come from.
