I need a sling mount for my Magpul MS3 sling. If I buy a Troy OEM sling plate will the QD from my magpul sling interface with the Troy sling plate or is the QD design different for each vendor?
Thanks in advance.

The ones i have vary in the style of the release button, but the qd itself is/are alike. One is troy the other DD
yes, as long as you buy both the swivel and the socket from quality makers.
Ok. Thanks guys
Sort of adding to the questions on this thread. I have a BCM KMR Rail that I am trying to use the IWC Keymod low profile sling mount with QD. However, this setup is not working with my sling. The QD push button sling seems to have a nose or protrusion that is too long and will hit the back of the KMR Rail when I try to mount it. With the IWC taken off, I can mount the sling in the IWC mount, but then it won't go on the rail. Here is a picture.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to make this work? Or would I have to either get a different sling attachment or different sling? Thanks.
You have not mounted it correctly. The iwc mount works.

I just looked at the thread and you're right. I must be mounting it incorrectly as the QD socket hole should wind up directly in front of the Keymod hole. I'll try it tonight. Thanks!
It worked! I fixed the problem. I wasn't installing the IWC mount correctly. Thanks!
No prob man. I as well as another member had the same issue.
Are all of these OEM parts because it seems every company has there own branded ones? And if purchased from the usual mentioned companies, BCM, DD, Noveske, etc are they good to go?
From what I can tell "quality" means the QD swivel costs at or around $12.00 each.
I have to believe there's a whole lotta profit being made from these things...but, yeah if you want them to work right, you have pay for it.
This...I spent about four grand to have a precision rifle built by one of THE premier builders, at the time. I got it two days before a LE Sniper School, after a little more then a year wait. I had flush cups installed in the McMillan stock as part of the build. I plugged in my super high speed sling and off I went to school...Everything was beyond perfect, right up and until the front swivel let go, launching the rifle off my shoulder and down in a 180 degree arc, to strike the barrel tip on the floor. Thankfully, I had the rifle set up for auxiliary irons, including a front sight base. The rifle hit right on the base and sheared it off clean, with no other damage...lucky, stupid, and damn near heartbreaking all at the same time...
Make sure they match...
Don't buy cheap QD's and sockets from China...
Does anyone use the MI Ambi QD endplate? and what are your thoughts on it?
