I was in Gunz class and was surprised on how many people there were not dialed in.
I did get to play around with the new vfg on the KMR and am planning on replacing my Geiselle SMR with a KMR in the near future. The SMR is going onto my SPR/REECE build. I also use my vfgs like a big hand stop and found the bcm keymod grip to be very comfortable.
Impatiently waiting for one of these and angled rail covers both in foliage green to be in stock. I've had my gun for 2 weeks or so now and still haven't been able to get any keymod stuff for the rail yet...
I am wondering why BCM used flared sides. They seem to go out quite far. Not saying I don't agree, just not understanding why. Do they help ergonomically somehow?
As I showed in the photos in my OP, the sides are exactly the same width as with the Picatinny version. The Magpul RVG is only slightly narrower. The width on the VG-S-KM is only noticeable because you don't have chunky Picatinny hardware thickening the skirt.
Once you see how the latch works, it becomes more obvious why keeping the same width as the Picatinny grip was advantageous to the design.
How does it fit the NSR? Is the base much wider then the bottom of the NSR rail?
Thanks!
Watch the video. I have several close-ups of a black VG-S-KM on one of my NSRs (a 16" Noveske 300 BLK upper wearing my 762-SDN-6).
Thank-you.
I watched your video twice and never noticed the NSR.
Ran out to the car for my reading glasses...
Thanks for showing me what I was waiting for. I have a Gear Sector short VFG on a Centurion carbine cutout rail, and use it as a hand stop. My thumb is in a perfect place to control my light (TRL-1s) in a Mossie Mount.
I like the stubby VFG's. I will order the Bravo Co. grip when it comes out.
Thanks again!
p.s.
Reading glasses are not just for reading.
Can't wait to add a full stable of new grey BCM accessories to my KMR setup. Really looking forward to this and the new stock coming out.
